On review, it’s been a busy, productive year at White Horse CAD. Our host of in-house engineering services is in full swing, and there have been many highlights. It has, of course, due to COVID presented challenges, but we’re thankful to continue working with our clients regardless of location with the help of technology and positive relationships.

New Year, New Plotter
A1 Plan printing

New Large Format Plotter

The start of the year seems some time ago now. I cast my mind back to February when our new CAD plotter arrived. We’ve been able to supply A3, A2, and A1 engineering drawings and site plans in black and white and/or colour print. Turnaround and posting have been prompt too.

Upgrades & New Services
 Wiltshire SolidWorks Contractor

SolidWorks & Computer Upgrades

Our biggest investment followed, with a computer upgrade to the latest, high-performance mobile workstation. We also upgraded our SolidWorks licence from standard to SolidWorks Premium. We’ve been delighted to offer new services such as Finite Element Analysis (FEA) of parts and assemblies, photo-realistic rendering, routing of pipes, ducts, and wire to name but a few.

Happy Birthday!
Wiltshire 3D Print Service

New Larger 3D Print Capacity

On 15 August, we celebrated a successful three years of business. We continue to build on our success and further invested in our services with a new, larger, 3D FDM printer. This prints 3D parts up to 300 x 250 x 200mm in a wide range of materials. We also purchased a 3D scanner, enabling reverse engineering on a wide range of products measuring up to 1200 x 1200 x 1200mm. We’ve enjoyed seeing this state-of-the-art equipment in action and are pleased we could use it to benefit others by printing 3D headbands for facemasks for staff in our local surgery.

First Employee & New Office

Towards the end of the year, it’s been great to have my first employee Liz on board, helping with the day-to-day running of our growing business. With more staff and equipment, an office move was needed. Fortunately, we have stayed on-site at Heywood House – just over the hallway so a straightforward move! There’s room for more, so watch this space for developments! The site is a lovely place to work. There’s plenty of space for all our equipment and atmosphere that enables us to give our full attention to the detailed work we pride ourselves on. We always welcome our clients here and are hopeful to see more of you in the future as things ease. In the meantime, we hope everyone enjoys a festive break and send our best wishes to all for the year ahead.
