Keeping up to date with software and hardware is something that is really important to us. White Horse CAD are always early adopters to new software releases and installed SolidWorks 2020 as soon as it became available to us.

On Tuesday we visited the Concord Museum in Bristol for the Solid Solutions 2020 Launch Event. If you would like to attend a Solid Solutions 2020 launch event you can register here.

Attending the launch event was a great opportunity to find out about the new features and improvements available in SolidWorks 2020. It was also a great opportunity to network with other design professionals.

Although we adopt new software releases early we are also mindful of our clients who are using older versions of SolidWorks and have most versions installed since 2014. This means not only are we able to work with the latest version of SolidWorks but we are able to keep our client’s legacy data intact without causing backward compatibility issues.

SolidWorks Data is not backward compatible. This means that if a client is using SolidWorks 2014 and the data is opened and saved in a newer version of SolidWorks for example SolidWorks 2020. The client would not be able to open the modified data on their 2014 version of SolidWorks.
