2018 was also the year that saw White Horse CAD move into our first, “proper” office. Quite an event! Especially considering this time last year I was working from an overflowing desk in the corner of the spare room at home. Having a dedicated office space has made running the business a lot easier. We now have a space to host meetings for up to 20 people, but the biggest benefit to the business from having a “proper” office is the increased focus that comes from having a dedicated workspace, away from the temptations of home. There is also the benefit of having a much improved work-life balance.
2018 was also the year I decided to up my networking game and join BNI. This has been a great benefit to not only the business but also to me personally. I not only have a network of trusted suppliers for everything from stationery to legal services I also have a group of business owners I now call friends. If you are looking to increase your sales next year… give BNI a try…
Another thing I really benefited from this year is the advice, training, and guidance of a Business Coach. This is something I am planning to continue and hopefully increase in 2019. When you run a small business on your own, it is very easy to get bogged down by the “day job”… but if you truly want to grow your business you need a coach! If the end of 2018 is anything to go by, 2019 is already looking to be a great year for White Horse CAD. You never know, this time next year, I may be in a bigger office… with employees and perhaps even some manufacturing equipment…
