Happy Thursday!

Engineers from across the UK will be racing at the White Horse course.

Due to the Easter weekend, we’re sending our blog a little earlier than usual. We hope you have nice plans for the long weekend. And, if you’re looking for things to do in the coming weeks, make sure you put the Westbury Soapbox Derby in your diary!

We’re delighted to be supporting this first-ever soapbox event happening right on our doorstep at the iconic Westbury White Horse on Saturday 21 May. Organisers are describing the course as the ‘steepest and most challenging in the UK’.

Not for the faint-hearted, the course looks pretty enthralling as elite engineers will race their carts in a bid to clock the fastest time and be crowned champions. ‘
So although we’re not hurtling down the hill ourselves, we’re confident it’s going to be an entertaining event!

Not only will it be a showcase of up to 35 Soapbox Racers but there’s live music and refreshments planned. Plus there’s an engineering fair taking place. We’d encourage any youngsters or budding engineers to come along and see what science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) can offer at this fun event. We think it’s really important to inspire the next generation of engineers with events like these. We’re looking into hosting an apprentice ourselves too. More on that to follow but in the meantime, we hope to see you at the Soapbox Derby!
