As always, January feels like a long month. However, we’re pleased to report it’s been a productive one with a combination of ongoing projects and new ones coming to fruition.

Using either your existing CAD data or by creating new data, we can delve beyond the 2D images into complex assemblies. Our software creates photorealistic video that shows complex features and parts in motion. By applying different finishes and lighting effects, it’s a great marketing tool to help your products or concepts gain attention.

An additional benefit of using the animation is making interactive information for presentations, instruction manuals, and websites. You can show it from all angles, ideal if it’s a concept that’s not yet been made or if you have the product and want to avoid a traditional photography shoot. The renders can be so realistic; sometimes, you must look closely to realise they aren’t photographs!

As we generate the images using the CAD data, you can eliminate the need to organize a traditional photoshoot in perfect conditions. All the trickier exterior and interior angles are covered as well. Once the file is set up, we can create renders from any viewing angle, which is much easier than retaking photographs each time you want a different angle.

The different angles give a greater interactive experience too. The images help bring the product to life in presentations or by showcasing a product online; we can even create renders of exploded views, making instructional literature more engaging.

We can apply different colours and finishes to the render. Clients comment how helpful this is to help explain a concept. Different finishes can be applied to photo- realistic renders

You have heard the expression “A picture is worth a thousand words”…  White Horse CAD thinks an animation speaks orders of magnitude more than a picture.

We were trying to explain the advantages of using a worm gear drive to a client and thought animation would be useful. A picture only tells part of the story, and animation tells the full story, quickly, effectively, and without the use of complex engineering terminology. 3D Design of a cam driven plunger

Sometimes having an animated product helps portray complex movements or mechanisms.

White Horse CAD Limited can create photorealistic images and animations allowing you to demonstrate your products to customers. You can use these in presentations or by embedding on your website.

The animation below is a cam-driven plunger with spring return. As you watch the video, notice how the spring compresses as the cam rotates. This touch or realism shows your product at its best.

Having photo realistic renders of your products helps you and your customers visualise what the final product may look like. We can add a variety of materials, backgrounds, and lighting scenarios to show your product at its best.

A variety of finishes can be ready applied to photo realistic renders

In this example, we use an oak base, with aluminium bearing blocks, a steel drive shaft with a bronze cam and a manganese bronze cam follower. All of the fasteners are steel and the spring is bronze (not the best spring material but we like the contrast).

The animation video has been compressed to reduce loading time. Howver, the full file is much clearer, but at a little over 650Mb it’s a little too large to demonstrate here.
